RULE ยง35.161 CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Owners shall complete a total of eight (8) hours of continuing education, including seven (7) hours in the subject matter that relates to the type of regulated service provided by their company, and one (1) hour of ethics.
New Technicians (First 12 months) must complete the Alarm Level I training. This training consists of sixteen (16) hours of classroom instruction or equivalent online course as approved by the department, with two (2) hours covering the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it applies to low voltage.
Technicians must earn eight (8) hours of continuing education during each subsequent twenty-four (24) month period with one (1) hour covering the National Electrical Code.
Pricing:
Credit Hour class: $20. (If you only have time for one)
The 2-Hour monthly CEU class: $40.
The 16-hour Alarm Level I class: $320.
LEVEL ONE classes are scheduled when there are a minimum of 4 students who have emailed and requested to be enrolled in the next LEVEL ONE course. The classes start at 8 AM and end at 5 PM and run for 2 days concurrently on Monday-Tuesday. Lunch is provided.

Once we receive your information and a class date and time has been agreed to, an invoice will be generated and sent to you or the payee email you have provided. When the invoice is paid, your name(s) will be added to the class roster.
Cancellations and reschedules can be accommodated by emailing AlarmClass@SECURAC.com in a timely manner before the class. The class fee will be applied to the rescheduled class, or to another student. A class minimum of five (5) students will be required for training sessions requiring travel for the instructor from the Houston area.

Sec. 1702.236. EXAMINATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRONIC ACCESS CONTROL DEVICE INSTALLERS.
(a) The department shall require an individual who applies for an individual
license as an electronic access control device installer to pass an examination given by the department or a person approved by the department. The examination must cover material related to access control.
(b) The commission by rule may allow an electronic access control device
installer to obtain or renew an individual license by fulfilling the requirements of a commission-approved, industry-based educational training program.

Certificates will be emailed to class attendees following the completion of the class.
